Description of the event:
The Final Conference,
aiming to bring together key stakeholders and partners including the UfM to
discuss the results of the project and next steps, will be organized by the
Tunisian Institut National des Sciences et Technologies de la Mer (INSTM) with
the support of the Lead Beneficiary Legambiente Onlus and of the rest of the
partnership of the COMMON project.
COMMON (COastal
Management and MOnitoring Network for tackling marine litter in Mediterranean
Sea) is funded by the ENI CBC Med Programme, under its objective on
Environmental protection, climate change adaptation and mitigation. Since 2019,
the overarching goal of the project has been the application of the Integrated
Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) principles to the challenge of marine litter in
the Mediterranean, improving knowledge on this phenomenon; enhancing the
environmetal performance of 5 pilot coastal areas in Italy, Tunisia and
Lebanon; and engaging local stakeholders in marine litter management.
