European Commission has published a roadmap and opened a public consultation in preparation for the initiative on new approach for exploiting Europe’s offshore renewable energy potential in a sustainable and inclusive way. As part of the European Green Deal, the Commission identified the importance of agreeing a new approach for exploiting Europe’s offshore renewable energy potential in a sustainable way. The revised Commission Work Programme confirmed that a European offshore renewable energy strategy would be published before the end of 2020, aimed at giving a strategic direction for the ambitious development and integration of this type of energy by 2030 and 2050.
