The UfM webinar on Financing Innovation Ecosystems for the Mediterranean Sustainable Blue Economy, taking place on January 30, 2023, from 10h30 to 12h30 CET. It will be hosted by the Co-Presidency and Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean
Innovation ecosystems – encompassing actors from innovative start-ups and SMEs, to researchers, academia, and policy/decision-makers – are essential drivers for transformative and sustainable change in coastal and maritime regions.
In the Mediterranean, a number of financing actions and support initiatives to foster innovative ecosystems for the Sustainable Blue Economy are available through the EU and other international investors. However, it is essential to foster greater awareness of such opportunities and of the related potential for local development across the basin.
The webinar will also aim to shed a light on, and engage with, exemplary actors that are supporting the development of innovation ecosystems for the Sustainable Blue Economy in the Mediterranean, highlighting especially stakeholders from the Southern shores of the basin, including ‘enablers’ and financing operators at local level as well as international investors/supporters.
The draft agenda of the webinar can be found here.
