ANAPI Pesca – the National Association of Autonomous Small-Scale Fishing Entrepreneurs – is an Italian representative organisation established in 2005 to protect, support and promote small fishing entrepreneurs and operators throughout the fisheries value chain. ANAPI Pesca represents self-employed fishers, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, producer organisations and operators active in marine fisheries, inland fisheries, aquaculture and mariculture, seafood processing, maritime, port and underwater services, research, fishing tourism and fish tourism. The Association promotes the economic, social and environmental sustainability of fishing communities through institutional representation, technical assistance, professional training, innovation, access to funding and the diversification of fishing-related activities. It participates in national and regional dialogue on fisheries and aquaculture policies and works to ensure that the needs, knowledge and experience of small-scale fishers are properly considered in decision-making processes. ANAPI Pesca is interested in Mediterranean and European cooperation on small-scale fisheries, participatory co-management, generational renewal, digitalisation, low-impact fishing practices, marine monitoring, citizen science, sustainable aquaculture, seafood value chains and the resilience of coastal communities.
