Linking to the launch of the new Strategic Framework for a Competitive and Sustainable EU Bioeconomy, you are invited to a high-level discussion on the future of the blue bioeconomy in Europe and on how to truly “merge the blue and the green.”

While bioeconomy encompasses all economic activities based on the use of renewable biological resources, the EU strategy centers mainly on production of land-based biomass. As part of the EU Ocean Pact, a Blue Bioeconomy Innovation Initiative is expected to be launched by 2027. This presents a timely opportunity to bridge the gap between blue and green sectors – across disciplines, policies, and markets – and to promote a holistic and resilient “teal bioeconomy” that delivers benefits for nature, people, and society.

The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (“UfMS”) hereby informs users who may provide personal data to UfMS of its Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”).
