Description of the event:
The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) is joining forces with other Mediterranean stakeholders to organize and promote a Mediterranean Pavilion of the Conference of the Parties of the UN, CoP29, that is bound to gather public and private stakeholders.
The Mediterranean Pavilion is conceived as a house for all actors – public and private, scientific and academic, technical or involved in policy definition, civil society, finance and business – actively engaged in facing the climate crisis in and around the Mediterranean Sea.
For too long now, climate negotiations and climate action have been slowed down by the perception that all the actors – Civil Society, Governments, business and finance – were competitors. But we are not, and we need to join hands.
Throughout the two weeks of the COP29 under the United Nations Framework on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Mediterranean Pavilion will host numerous activities and gather key actors of our region.
As one of the Climate change hotspots in the world, we are joining forces at COP, to have a common voice: only together we can raise awareness of climate challenges in the Mediterranean and take action to find solutions.
