Description of the event:

The Blue Economy sectors play an integral role in the transformation of Europe’s future economy, and helps support the EU meet its ambitions set out in the European Green Deal.

Against the backdrop of a Europe-wide energy crisis and major disruptions in global supply chains as a result of Russia’s war in Ukraine, together with the increasingly visible impacts of climate change, this conference will bring together policymakers, local government and industry representatives from the marine, maritime, shipping and technology sectors to explore how Europe can lead the way towards a sustainable blue economy.

The conference will carefully consider the role of technology and innovation in achieving this goal, whilst driving economic growth for all. This includes the harnessing of marine and off-shore renewable energy; solutions to reduce ocean plastics and waste; and accelerating the digital and green transformation of the shipping and maritime industry.

The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (“UfMS”) hereby informs users who may provide personal data to UfMS of its Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”).
