Description of the event: Join the MED Sustainable Tourism Community on the 9th of October 2019 for its event "Fostering sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean region". This debate, organized as a side event of the European Week of Cities and Regions, has the objective of triggering the discussion on the importance of a sustainable approach in European tourism, with a special focus on the Mediterranean area and the next programming period. This is the occasion for the MED Sustainable Tourism Community to showcase the achievements of its territorial cooperation projects in fostering sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean area, as well as to present important policy paper and factsheets. The event is open to EU institutions, policy-makers, tourism public actors at European, national, regional level, and will gather representatives of the MED Sustainable Tourism Community. It will take place on the 9th of October from 9 am to 1 pm.
