BLUEfasma in a glance 

BLUEfasma integrates and implements Circular Economy (CE) principles in the key blue growth sectors of fishing and aquaculture to benefit MED insular, island and coastal areas in a novel, innovative way. The project team tackles the transnational challenge of continual depletion of natural resources that causes serious environmental, economic and social impacts. Its overall objective is to empower the innovations capacity of SMEs, maritime clusters/networks, public authorities to boost blue CE growth in insular, island and coastal areas.

Why Mediterranean needs BLUEfasma?

BLUEfasma will help the Mediterranean by:

changing the way businesses perform towards blue CE 

having long term effects in sustainable growth 

preserving the environment 

improving quality of life 

helping the fisheries and aquaculture economy sector.

BLUEfasma goals

BLUEfasma approach aims to change the current thinking on circularity by:

replicating effective CE work

testing upgraded circularity self-assessment tool in a wide range of MED pilots in Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Malta, Cyprus, Croatia, Portugal, Montenegro

monitoring business readiness to invest in R&I while offering tailored mentoring services

organising BLUEfasma Living Labs and targeted transferring activities

shifting policy towards CE

systematising funding opportunities for blue CE Innovation business investment and improving SMEs fund-raising capacity
