The European Environment Agency (EEA) provides sound, independent information on the environment. The mandate of the EEA is to help the community and states to: i) make informed decisions for improving the quality of the environment; ii) integrate environmental considerations into economic policies iii) move towards sustainability and iv) coordinate the European environment information and observation network.
