The webinar 'Digitalization skills in the aquaculture and tourism sectors in the Mediterranean region’ co-organized by the Union for the Mediterranean and WestMed will take place on the 9th of June from 9:00 to 13:00 (CET time).
The digital transformation requires new skills and competencies, educational programs and knowledge transfer in key blue economy sectors.
This webinar will provide an overview of the state-of-the-art and needs in digitalization skills in the Mediterranean region, with a particular focus on aquaculture and tourism.
On the 2nd of February, the 42 Member Countries of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) adopted the 2nd UfM Ministerial Declaration on Sustainable Blue Economy, renewing their political mandate to cooperate closely and address joint challenges. As part of the promotion of blue skills, careers and employment, the countries agreed “to prioritize education, vocational training and scientific capacity to reduce the mismatch between the skills of the labour force and the evolving needs of industry”.
The event will gather representatives of government agencies, national and regional organizations, SMEs, local businesses, start-ups, academia, decision-makers, as well as end-users from the field of blue economy and ICT sectors to explore the ongoing developments in digitalization skills in the aquaculture and tourism sectors, with a focus on some projects devoted to these specific aspects.
The event will be simultaneously translated in English, French and Arabic.
