event: The plastic busters MPAs approach for marine litter prevention and mitigation

Description of the event:

This is the first of two webinars organized in the framework of the Mediterranean Biodiversity Protection Community (MBPC) Working Group 2 activities on “Sustainable Use of Natural Resources”, coordinated by the CPMR Intermediterranean Commission.

The webinar will be from 11.00 to 12.30 CEST and will focus on PLASTIC BUSTERS MPAs’ results of testing four major types of priority measures in 9 Mediterranean MPAs, with the aim of preventing and mitigating marine litter.

Opportunities will be given to the participants to express their opinions about the activities carried out and to share their own experiences. This is also a good time for policymakers and Mediterranean stakeholders to hear experiences “from the field” and learn how to improve the management of Posidonia beaches while developing regional participatory approaches for a better biodiversity protection and conservation as well as tested measures to prevent and mitigate the impacts of marine litter.

The webinar will be held in English.
