The Energy Transition Partnership (ETP) for the EU Fisheries and Aquaculture sector, under the European Commission (DG MARE), would like to invite you to our upcoming workshops, “Navigating the future of EU Fisheries through energy transition.” This event will consist of two hybrid workshops: the first workshop will concentrate on Small-Scale Coastal Fisheries (SSCF), while the second one will address Large-Scale Fisheries (LSF) and Distant Water Fleet (DWF). The workshops will focus on identifying and discussing the challenges and opportunities associated with energy transition in these sectors and will build on previous ETP sessions and feature case studies to drive informed discussions on the way forward for the energy transition.

Conducted in English. Live interpretation will be available in French, English, Spanish, Italian and Bulgarian. Additionally, automatic transcription will be provided online in all 24 EU languages.
Focus of the workshops
These workshops aim to:
- Assess progress: Present the current state of the Working Group's (WG) efforts on the energy transition roadmap.
- Analyse initial findings: Discuss preliminary results and identify synergies to refine recommendations and develop practical solutions for the fisheries and aquaculture sector.
- Showcase innovations and best practices: Highlight successful case studies to inspire replication and document future measures to speed up the energy transition of SSCF, LSF and DWF.
Spaces are limited for in-person participation, so early registration is encouraged. Registered participants will receive the agenda, venue details, and online links closer to the event date.

These workshops are part of a series of events organized by the ETP, designed to thoroughly examine the key challenges associated with the energy transition. Each workshop will bring together experts from industry, policy and stakeholder organisations to discuss sustainable practices and innovative solutions for achieving energy efficiency within the fisheries sector. Participants will have the opportunity to develop concrete solutions together and recommendations to support energy transition efforts in the sector to gather stakeholders’ views that help shape the Energy Transition roadmap.
