MEDIN (Marine Environmental Data and Information Network) is hosted by the British Oceanographic Data Centre (BODC) in Liverpool. It is an open partnership and there are over 30 partners representing the whole marine sector: UK government departments, research institutions and private value-adding companies.
MEDIN covers a vast range of information on biological, physical, chemical, environmental, geological, oceanographic parameters. Being a UK-driven portal, metadata and datasets are mainly referred to UK sea waters, even though also a limited quantity of data collected in non-UK waters through UK organizations are available, including those within the Mediterranean Sea.
