The Mediterranean Science Commission supports a network of several thousand marine researchers. The Commission, with headquarters in Monaco, has grown from the eight founding countries of its origin to 22 Member States today. These support a network of several thousand marine researchers, applying the latest scientific tools to better understand, monitor and protect a fast-changing, highly impacted Mediterranean Sea. Available resources regard the projects and activities of CIESM, namely monitoring of parameters of importance for understanding the fast-changing dynamics, biodiversity and ecosystem services, hydrology and health of the Mediterranean, research institutes, etc. The CIESM Guide of Marine Research Institutes includes a list of research institutes and related information, the Workshop Monographs are a collection of CIESM workshops on emerging issues by key experts in their field, the Archives contain thousands of illustrated CIESM Congress papers plus CIESM historical faunistic records and the Atlas of Exotic Species in the Mediterranean consists of 4 volumes which include fact sheets for each species.
