The BlueGeneration project launched in February 2020 its flagship job portal at Companies across the Blue Economy can now advertise open positions and training opportunities free of charge to thousands of young Europeans. The portal is being promoted to thousands of young people across Europe through school visits and promotional activities. It focuses on young people between the ages of 15 and 29 with the aim to attract them and start a career in the Blue Economy. The job portal is open to all sub-sectors, including Nautical Tourism, Aquaculture, Ocean Energy, Marine Biotechnology, Shipbuilding, Maritime Transport and Fisheries. The BlueGeneration project started in 2018 and will last until 2022. At its conclusion, it will have engaged with 40,000 young people and coached them to start a career in the Blue Economy. Other initiatives the project is working on are a Career Guide, Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) and Mentorship opportunities. The aim is to provide concrete support to address one of the key issues of the Blue Economy in Europe: Employment in the industry has increased over the past years and there is now a lack of young applicants in many regions and companies. The BlueGeneration job portal is an excellent opportunity for stakeholders from all sectors of the Blue Economy to advertise for free their job, training or internship offers and directly connect to interested youth across Europe.
