You are invited to take part in this survey of the training, resources, and expertise currently required to support marine and freshwater stakeholders that work in citizen engagement around Europe. Please read this information sheet carefully and answer the questions that follow. The survey is being conducted as part of PREP4BLUE, a Horizon Europe project (grant no. 101056957), funded by the European Union. PREP4BLUE is a partnership of 17 different institutions from across Europe that supports the EU's Mission: Restore Our Ocean and Waters by 2030.
PREP4BLUE will use the results of the survey to design the following resources, to be launched across 2023 and 2024:
- A series of free skills workshops around citizen engagement, fostering volunteerism; social inclusion and sustainability; sustainable behavior change; and impact planning for marine and freshwater stakeholders.
- Helpdesk for those wishing to be connected with experts.
- Toolkits, guides, and case studies to assist in the design of marine & freshwater citizen engagement activities.
- Opportunities to connect with others across Europe who engage citizens regarding marine & freshwater matters.
This survey takes 7-10 minutes to complete. The data will be stored securely in line with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016 requirements. All published results will be anonymized to protect the privacy of research participants. Participation is voluntary and participants can withdraw from the survey up until such time as your form is submitted (e.g. participants fill out the reCAPTCHA verification at the end of the survey and click “next”), at which point your data will be recorded and stored anonymously. Only persons over the age of 18 are to take part in the survey.
