In the framework of the UNECE Environment Conference on 'Circular economy, Sustainable Tourism and Education for Sustainable Development’(Cyprus, 1-5 October), the UfM together with CPMR-IMC and with the participation of the World Tourism Organization, is organizing a Side Event on ‘Social and economic regeneration of the Mediterranean after the pandemic: shared methods and tools for relaunching a sustainable post-COVID-19 tourism model’. The Side Event will take place on October 6.

In late 2021, UfM and CPMR-IMC published a Handbook on ‘Social and economic regeneration of the Mediterranean after the pandemic: shared methods and tools for relaunching a sustainable post-COVID-19 tourism model’. This Side Event will take the form of a capacity building session where participants will reflect on measures undertaken to relaunch tourism. They will share and learn about available tools and methods to ensure the delivery of sustainable tourism policies and the strengthening of operators’ skills. These two factors are identified in the Handbook as key to effectively respond to the current challenges faced by the sector.
