Description of the event: 

The 4th Annual Forum of the EU Mission ‘Restore Our Ocean and Waters’ will take place on 5 March 2026 at the Charlemagne building in Brussels, as part of the European Ocean Days (2-6 March). This edition marks a key milestone as the Mission enters its deployment phase. 

Discover innovative solutions developed by Mission Ocean projects, explore how the Digital Twin of the Ocean is shaping ocean governance, and learn how citizen engagement is helping achieve the Mission objectives.  The Forum will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders – including public authorities, policymakers, scientists and researchers, businesses, investors, NGOs, civil society and youth – all committed to restoring and safeguarding the health of our ocean and waters.

In addition, there will be other Mission-related events to catch during the week. This includes:  

  • 3 March: The 2nd Stakeholder Consultation for the European Ocean Research and Innovation Strategy will give stakeholders the opportunity to shape the strategy collaboratively.
  • 4 March: The 6th EU Blue Parks Community Workshop will host an open dialogue on how the EU Blue Parks initiative can accelerate progress toward the Mission targets.
  • 4 March: The session Together for Change: A Coalition to Empower Communities for Mission Ocean and Waters will bring together regions, cities, ports and islands supporting the Mission.
  • 4 March: At the Stakeholder consultation for the European Water Resilience Research and Innovation Strategy, participants can provide feedback on its first draft.
  • Throughout the week, an interactive exhibition of the EU Digital Twin Ocean will showcase the latest digital tools for monitoring and understanding the ocean.

Beyond the Forum and other Mission-related events, the European Ocean Days, under the tagline ‘The European Ocean Pact: Sustaining the ocean that sustains us’, offer a full week of sessions on sustainable blue economy, blue investments, marine knowledge, international ocean governance and maritime security. Engage in panels, workshops, and community events to exchange ideas and drive concrete actions supporting the European Ocean Pact.
