On 21-22 April, 2026, UfM countries, Observers and experts gathered together at the UfM Secretariat premises in Barcelona, Spain, for the 19th meeting of the UfM Regional Platform on Sustainable Blue Economy.

UfM countries and Mediterranean SBE stakeholders gathered together in order to continue to set the path towards the implementation of the 2021 UfM Ministerial Declaration on SBE and its related Roadmap, focusing on (among other key agenda items):

• Updates on  the implementation of the EU Ocean Pact and Med Pact;
• Joint ongoing and emerging initiatives including ongoing synergies with WestMED and the first meeting towards the Blue Economy Sea-basin strategy for the Eastern Mediterranean;
• funding opportunities including the BMP;
• and thematic spotlights on UfM SBE Ministerial priorities including sustainable food from the Sea, and Sustainable Tourism.
